2010

Spent my day at home watching Harry Potter and packing for Paris, short trips are always the hardest since you can't regret what you have brought on the night you're going out. I managed to get most of my things down though. I'm so looking forward to start my new year in another city and Monday it's off. I also checked out some guides and found a personal guide by my favourite parisian and artist Fafi, def gonna try to visit some places she recommended and also hunted down some adresses of where you can find her art. This one, paris.unlike is also a really good site if you're visiting the city.

Hoping to find this wall at Point éphémére! Photo via Fafi.

Ending this post with a little summary of 2010.

SONG Hard one but Tightrope by Janelle Monae and Crown On the Ground by Sleigh Bells is def two favorites.

BIGGEST SUCCESS
I developed a lot as a dancer, person and friend. Lke I said before, this is for sure one of the best years in my life and I leard that if you really want something nothing is impossible. I got to work with one of my favorite choreographer in New York, the amazing Dana Foglia.

TRIPS My one-year stay in New York will always be the best trip, I had a blast in Miami too!

DAY
Disregarded from the Erykah Badu concert I will always remember the day Moncef, Julia, Wendy, Tuni and I had dinner at Moncef's place in Williamsburg and watched the sunset from the roof, beautiful view with my best friends. Also I will never forget Lajon's dance class at BDC when he did a combo to Stop the Party with Busta Rhymes and Swizz Beats, damn I felt that!!!

A TAKE AWAY SHOW

Aloe Blacc makes me smile, he's phenomenal and God so charming! I would do anything right now to rewind time and be @ Summerstage in Central Park again just enjoy his presens. A Take Away Show is shot in Paris by La Blogotheque and it's for sure one of the better short films I've seen in a while. As well I love their concept (check out more artists on their Vimeo Channel). Hey Brother, I Need A Dollar, You Make Me Smile and Use Me (by Bill Withers), four wonderful songs performed on random spots in the city of the cities, which I by the way will be visiting next week, oh Paris!

Shoes, Topshop

Two days left for Christmas, and nine days left of this great year. Just saw a really beautiful sunset from my window and the winter wonderland outside makes the view even better. Had another little pre Christmas party yesterday with the girls and also bought myself a well needed gift - shoes!

"It was always about asking questions about the nature of creation and the tools of creation"

Leigh J. McCloskey is the artist behind the art of Cosmogramma, the unspeakable album of Flying Lotus. I have no words for his art, truly admire his creations and thoughts that he puts into shape with living colors. I love getting inspired by these kind of people who doesn't show any limits of their visions. That's how it's supposed to be; free.

MOVIE OF ALL TIMES

If there is a movie that I just have to see every Christmas it's Grinchen, the green monster is a f-ing masterpiece and Jim Carrey is a genius himself. Crazy how many hilarious facial expressions that he makes along the movie, laughing like a psycho every year and it's always the same scene that almost makes me suffocate - when they go back in time and you see Baby-Grinch grow up and he's bullied in school (terrible, I know but can't help it). A real classic!

THAT DRESS

My mom made me watch Så Mycket Bättre a couple of weeks ago, a tv show with some Swedish musicians who makes their own version of each others songs. Every time I've watched it I always look forward seeing September make her performance. She's absolutely stunning and you know how you sometimes wish you could master magic, that's how I felt when I saw this performance in the video above. I LOVE THAT MARILYN MONROE-POP ART DRESS! Have been looking for it online and trying to figure out where it's from but no results.. I would guess it's vintage.
