Some good music @ P3

Just came home from Daev's, we chilled with some amazing music and Tuni an I practised a little. Sitting in my renewed room and listening to P3, radio is lovely when you haven't heard some in a while. I just heard a Swedish choir with their version of Tightrope with Janelle Monae, a really good one I must say and they reminded me how much I love this song. She was beyond AMAZING as a pre at Erykah Badu's concert @ Roseland Ballroom this summer in New York, and she went crazy on Tightrope, it was seriously the best freaking performance I've ever seen in my life!!! Just gotta love Miss Monae, enjoy!

Phonecall...

Moncef called. Felt great hearing his voice again and about the show he's doing in the city. I miss him and God I miss New York!

Skating my way through town

2010 has been a good year, a really good year. Can't beleive how quickly time flies though.

Julia and I had a litte trip to IKEA the other day, tried to avoid the Christmas hype as much as possible since people act crazy during these days. Bought some new furnitures for my room and finally it's starting to look a bit like I've always imagined it. Just one more desk to piece and then I'm done!

And yeah just gotta say Gothenburg city looks like one giant ice-rink, it's awful and my hand is still in bad shape from when I fell two weeks ago (I laughed my ass off, and so did the tram driver LOL).

The Story of Cass Pennant

I've always liked British film, it's just something really charming and real with it. Julia and I watched CASS yesterday, a random movie I found on my brothers computer the other day. It's based on a true story of a book by Cass Pennant, a jamaican born child who was adopted by an elderly white couple and brought up in an all-white area of London. After years of racism as daily bases Cass gets involved in football hooliganism and becomes the leader of West Ham Football Firm. Very gripping story!

Nothing but love for Gorillaz new album Plastic Beach, it's a masterpiece and features a lot of other great artist. Check out Captain Snoop Dogg in the new video for Welcome to the World of Plastic Beach.

Dark Side

Til' the end I managed to hunt down the right color in this crazy lipstick jungle. Spent last night with Tuni, Julia and some other long time seeing friends. We had a blast!

It's sick how many times you change your mind about some things, but for every new day I just see clear signs. Should I trust the signs or go against them, maybe I should just determine my own destiny..

Been seeing a lot of orientalic prints and new-style kaftans lately, which is an excellent combination. The Maxi dresses from Holly Fulton Fall 2010 Collection are beyond amazing!

"Fana Bana Bobana"

Spent this Wednesday with my beloved Julia in town. Tried not to buy anything since we're saving for Paris but checking out some stores is always fun. Saw this Frida Kahlo printed T shirt from ACNE and it just made us think of Fanny, our Mexican sister that we lived with in New York.

She made our livingroom come to life with her beautiful art and I will never forget when she came home with seven small Frida Kahlo paintings that we hang up together between the windows. As well I will never forget one day I came home to the apartment and heard Animal Collective playing on the highest volume. I opened the door. There she sat on the floor, painting and was so into the music you could see it in her hands. I miss her. I miss her a lot.

C'est Magnifique!

This time it's the french musicians DJ Mehdi and Riton who chose to make some music together under the name Carte Blanche. Do! Do! Do! is the name of the song featuring fabolous Kid Sister who transforms to a singing fafinette and explores the life through Youtube. And a big YES for Fafi who shows her amazing work in her husband Mehdi's new song!!! Ever since the collaboration with Mark Ronson and Lily Allen for the video Oh My God I loved the fact of seeing her Fafinettes come to live from walls to the screen. She's absolutely one of my favorite artists and seeing Kid Sister in Paris made me long even more to the beautiful city. But no worries, I'm leaving to Paris in less than 3 weeks!!! Can't wait to enjoy all the street art and hunting Fafi-walls!

Nikon School

I had a photography workshop today at Nikon School. Before we started to work by our selves we sat and listened to a man speaking for two hours. I realized, despite my ambition for learning I'm not made to sit down on a chair staring forward. No.

The Balloon

A night out in NYC a balloon popped up right in my face and the next second a man started drawing on it. He gave it to me and walked to another person with a piece of paper, did the same thing and then I lost him. Well that's the story of the mysterious artist and the balloon that lasted for two weeks before it shrunk and disappeared.

You just can't do anything else than loving Jeremy Scott and his creativity. The only thing that disturbed me in this collection was the meat-dress (even if it's made out of latex which I feared to be real). Ever since I saw Lady Gaga wearing meat on her body I was disgusted. What's up with the meat trend? Seriously?

New single, Get Some by Lykke Li. I'm looking forward to her new album releasing 1 of March next year. I got to taste some of the new tracks on stage during Way Out West, where I by the way felt so sorry for Lykke Li when her voice stood up on her. Despite leaving a little bit to early in frustration she rocked the stage with her smashing outfit and sexy moves. Thumbs up for Get Some!

I grabbed the new issue of Nöjesguiden today, haven't read that paper in forever. Interesting issue this time and I got a lot more happy for the article with Swedish Gnucci Banana, pleasent surprise. Nice reading a little about her story and then listen trough some really good tracks. Can't believe I missed Hush (Iggy, Iggy) when it came out, shame on me. I'm enjoying tonights new tunes for sure!
